For inside mounting, cell blinds need a minimum 2-inch window frame depth, and the blackout shades width should be 1/2 inch less than the window width. Blinds for windows should be 2 inches longer than the window length. For outside mounting, cellular shades should be 4 inches wider and longer than the window width and length for better coverage.
